27 - 28/03
March has been a really good month so far, just 2 more days till April but I'm pretty sure this month may be one of my favourites from 2010. Started all with the Coldplay concert and the casual meeting with the band in the hotel. One week after and we're back to school, new teachers, loads of new faces. I finished my driving-theory-lessons and now I'm waiting to do my test and finally begin the REAL driving lessons. Love Drunk was released here in Brazil and also the videoclip! Now we are able to vote and put it on tv - proud to be part of their ONLY (brazilian!) and BIGGEST fansite, with the most amazing people internet could introduce me to :).
Saturday, 27th: 7am-wakeup-call. Sounds early but when you have to wake up before 6am during the week days, 7am can be awesome. I went to school to my saturday-4-classes and then had lunch at Subway with Marcus and some other people we eventually met on the way. Arthur was supposed to go with us but he couldn't make it. 15cm-sandwich and off to the real subway. 7 stations till "Luz" and just some steps to get into Pinacoteca. After almost an hour we realised that we were in the wrong place, there was no Andy Warhol's exhibition. Thankfully the other place was near so it took about 10 minutes to get there, walking fast due to the strange presence of homeless and drugged people - welcome to the 3rd world. As it was a Saturday, the entrace was for free so you can figure out the queue's size. Despite the waiting, the exhibition was good. All the famous Pop Art pictures we used to see just in the computer were less than 2 meters away from our eyes: Marilyn Moroe, Dollars, Campbell's Can and some polaroid pictures. In the end I bought some postals, each one for R$2,00. The day finished 10 stations away from there, at Avenida Paulista. Marcus needed some Starbucks so I did the effort to go there with him, and I ended buying a disgusting frozen tea. Before that, I forgot to mention that I got to buy the brazilian version of Love Drunk - no difference from the American one though.. but it was a MUST have a national copy :).
Sunday, 28th: 4-hour-lunch with family to celebrate my grandmother's birthday. Luckly wifi was on so I could try to win some tickets to the musical I had been looking for. Unforunately my luck had gone and I couldn't get them. If I'd like to see the play I'd have to pay for it so what was I waiting for? Sunday's entrace was even cheaper so I met some friends at metro station and we walked to the theater. I was already in the queue, about to buy my ticket when I was surprised by some random guy offering my his ticket. FOR FREE. It took me sometime to realised that I needn't pay for them and of course I did accept it. The musical is called "O Despertar da Primavera" - a brazilian version of "Spring Awakening" (not a copy). Awesome. Better than I expected. Before the musical I tried to listen to some songs I found on internet and, to be honest, I didn't like that much on the first time. Although, after the play I actually end up buying the cd! I totally recommend the musical. The plot is from 1891 but on the other hand it is SO present-day. It kinda reminded me of a film called "The History Boys".
